JONES FAMILY 2008

Berkli looks excited to start surgery!

When we left for Utah this summer, it was the day before Father's Day. These are my favorite, most recent pics we left in a frame for Vaughn to find at home while we were on the other side of the country!!

Fly Hunter

I was getting ready for our big 6 week trip to Utah, and there was a fly in my bathroom. Of course I was getting nervous about traveling with all three little ones on the plane by myself and being without a husband for 4 weeks. That is when my sweet Jaxon just brings some comical relief to the whole situation. As he is waving around Kymbal's high heels on his hands, getting ready to pound them into my wall, I yell," Woow buddy. Don't wack the walls with thos shoes." He quickly came back with, "but mom, I'm "shoeing" the fly!!!" I laughed really hard.

The Garden at the Aquarium

The Aquarium was just as entertaining to us as it was the kids. They were able to pet snakes, sturgeon, and manta rays. Berkli can now say what the fishy says and Jaxon is still talking about the sea turtle and the sharks. Kymbal still tells us about the turtles. They seemed to be her favorite.

We visited a model railroad museum that is one of the largest model railroads in the world. They said to replicate it now with products and man hours would be over a million dollars. Jaxon has loved trains from the time he could talk. One of his first words was CHOO-CHOO, but the girls love trains too.

Our first vacation

This month we took our FIRST EVER, REAL LIVE family vacation. Yes, we have been on some trips before, but always to do something and usually to visit family. This one was just for us, but seriously kid-friendly. We stayed at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, which is a Holiday in now, but used to be a train station. We slept in an old victorian train car. The kids were in heaven. We visited the model railroad museum and the Tennessee aquarium. With our family complete and our caboose (Berkli- 10 months) here, it was the perfect time. We've only been married for almost 8 years (in July). I guess that is what we get for being in school every minute of it. WE DO SEE THE LIGHT! Vaughn graduates from anesthesia school in December!!!!

The Three Amigos in Chattanooga

Obviously All Boy...

So, I decided it was time for a new swimsuit and was looking at some online. Jaxon was standing by me and watching the computer. I brought up a page with women in swimsuits and he said, "Oh yeah. That's what I'm talking about!" Apparently 4 yrs old isn't too soon.

Right in the -----!!!!

Boogers!

Genius Boy

We earn trips if the kids get ready quickly for preschool. On Tuesday, they earned a trip to the library. I was carrying Berkli and books out of the library and had my hands full. Jaxon opened the door for me and said, "Look mom, I am a Genius!" I said, "You are a genius, but do you mean you are being a gentlemen?" Of course, he agreed and said, "Yeah-- I am a gentlemen."

The Spirit.

We had planned a trip for Vaughn to interview in Ohio and decided not to go at the last minute. I explained to the kids that sometimes, moms and dads, and even kids can feel the spirit and we don't always do exactly what was planned if the spirit lets us know maybe we should do something different. Jaxon looked at me and said, " I have a spirit in here," as he pointed to his chest. I told him, " Yes, you do." Kymbal then looked at me with her huge eyes and very seriously said, "My spirit is pink!"
